I found this fabulous retro print at the Salvo’s, part of a momentous fabric haul for that day. It was the perfect match for my lonely Passport Dress pattern (Simplicity 2209) which has been traced and muslin-ed but was waiting for the right fabric to come along. A few adjustments had been made to the pattern – the armscye was redrawn to accommodate a sleeve (this particular one being from the Diplomat Dress pattern), the bodice lengthened slightly to accommodate my tall frame, the zip moved to centre back and inseam pockets added (of course!).
Otherwise it was a breeze to fit and make up. The drafting of the Lisette pattern line is pretty admirable. I love the result and best of all, there is still plenty of this fantastic fabric left!
