Retro Bikini – BurdaStyle 5/2013 #132
I didn’t realize this pattern was intermediate skill level lol, but I got there eventually… I added 3" to the top of the bloomers to really get that vintage Hawaii look, but it looked excessive, so I sewed 6 separate strips of elastic going downward to gather up the fabric: 1 on each of the side seams, 3 down the front, and 1 down the center back. I think I had cut out some of the patterns for the top in the wrong sizes… and I added a small elasticized piece to the front band section so that I could get into it, lol. Also, I think I need to move the back strap position over a bit…
woven lightweight cotton print sarong, interfacing (sew-in), stretch lace trim, elastic, elastic thread, clear thread.
Plan a weekend getaway in these sweater dresses and furry accessories.
