Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is a two part outfit based on Simplicity 8090, an original pattern from 1969.
I had to adjust the pattern to fit my size, and I used the collar as a neck interfacing, but, otherwise, it is a faithful project to the original pattern.
I wanted to sew something for the colder days of autumn, more wearable and classy at the same time. I chose the pattern and initially intended to make a block colour outfit. I changed my mind when I came across this low stretch retro, geometric print fabric which I bough last year.
The skirt is fully lined and has a pearl button at the back. For the top, I chose the sleeved version with a a belt and a bow on the side.
I accesorized it with Rupert Sanderson nude patent leather shoes (as featured in the August and September issues of Burda Magazine), Wallis coat and chuncky ring, fabric rose from House of Fraser, Radley bag and Joules boutique beads.

I love this dress very much! It is so so chic! Im so glad you decided to use this fabric. Its amazing! Very inspiring. Im just working on a muslin for a vintage dress and this has really spurred me on!

I am over the moon, I went out for a meal and a lady told me she was 100% this was a designer outfit. I am sure you guys get this for the made dresses you wear. We are sooo cool!

I bought it in East Europe – Romania, where fabrics are sold per kilogram in some shops! whenevr I visit I come back with kilograms of different fabrics, works a lot cheaper!
