I wanted to have a swimsuit in a retro style, with a skirt panel at the front, but in modern swimsuit fabric.
I used the Alison pattern and drafted a skirt front panel for it, and I also made the leg openings deeper. As I don’t like halter straps so much, I lengthened the straps to form a cross on my back, I omitted the back strap. The leg openings and the skirt hem were finished with chlorine resistant elastic. I also added elastic to the strap that goes around the back and up the sides of the front, and I also added elastic into the strap seams. This made the whole thing to sit more snugly and safely, especially at the bust area.
I’m quite happy about my first ever swimsuit, and it passed the swimming test well!
