I found this beautiful fabric (from the “Retro Active” fabric line) that is a little reminiscent of a bygone era and snatched it up. I really wanted to make a vintage inspired dress with it. In fact I had the pattern all picked out. Then I threw out those plans and went with the Burda 02/2011 Cap Sleeve dress and LOVE how it turned out! This was my first fully lined dress. :)
I made a cute little bow belt to go with it in a funky purple polka dot fabric. I’m so excited! I’m going to wear this to a 50’s inspired wedding at the end of the month. :)
Update: belt tutorial is up in the techniques section. :)

You’ve done the beautiful material proud with this dress. Perfect style for the fabric and the purple bow contrasts perfectly and really finishes the dress of nicely.
