This is my first Jenny skirt, I made it about 3 months ago but I just haven’t been able to photograph it since I wear it so often.
This Jenny actually began life as a sleeveless Danielle dress of which I had grand ideas for altering and making into a dress I saw on someone in the street. I drew a sketch and even went as far as making up a muslin of the bodice changes but alas when I began making it in the “good” fabric it just looked terrible on me, it looked like a kiwi trying on an elephants skin! Front pleats coupled with princess style is not my friend but luckily because of those front pleats I had plenty of fabric to salvage for this skirt. A good thing too because I remember it wasn’t cheap.
My blouse is from La Mia Boutique December 2009 #1 without the panties attached. It was my first LMB pattern I have tried so I did not get the sizing quite right, those Italian women must have tiny upper arms. The ease is minimal, I had to add loops to do up the buttons on the sleeves and the front is a little tight on me but it’s quite a nice pattern with long front & back darts to achieve a really nice fit.
Anyway this is a great work outfit and looks great with coloured tights for winter too or high botos. The Jenny skirt is nice and quick to whip up but next time I will not cut the waist band on the bias, it just creates too many problems when top stitching, it looks good with the stripes but is not necessary.
Skirt: Stretch cotton/wool blend for the skirt, interfacing, invisible zipper, thread. Blouse: Stretch cotton for the blouse, buttons, interfacing

Fits and suits you so well! Very nice skirt! Also like the yoke on the bias.
