These tops were made from a major alteration of the Danielle pattern. Since the red material would ravel into rags in the wash, I reversed sticted some of the seams, folded them over on the edge and sewed them close the the folded edge. For both tops, the remaining seams were finished on the inside.

That design is great. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get that gathered bodice look. Could you post a How-To or a pattern for your design?

I love these tops! They are absolutely adorable. Have you tried french seaming? It encases the raw edges for fabrics that fray. You sew the wrong sides together. Flip it inside out and sew right sides together so that the seam is on the inside. Just make sure the amounts you sew add up to your seam allowance. It might be faster. Would you be willing to share the alterations you made?
