This dress is made after a top that I’ve seen on a tv show recently. After a lot of internet scouring I found out it was a Diane von Furstenberg design (and who can afford that?). I am not a big fan of peplum, but this peplumish detail looked really interesting. Luckily I had some remnants fabric from previous projects that matched the colours of the original top. The fabric was barely enough so it felt like piecing together a puzzle.
I decided to make it a dress as I couldn’t see what to match with the top, except jeans.
For the upper part I loosely used “the sweetheart dress” , raising the neckline and forgoing the “sweetheart” detail. At the back I added an exposed metal zipper. The skirt is self drafted.
