This dress is my entry for the Project Runway/Rowenta remake challenge. I made this dress out of two shirts. The bodice is from a men’s dress shirt and the skirt is from a women’s blouse. I really liked the floral print on the blouse, and thought the subtle stripes in the cotton shirt would contrast with it nicely. I mostly took the original shirts apart and constructed the dress from those fabrics, but I kept both button plackets intact and used those along the entire back of the dress – which got a bit tricky because they button on opposite sides! That took a bit of work to get right, but I’m happy with how it all turned out.
