This was the 1st garment that I have done on my new serger <3
The dress was based on Burda’s pattern #127 from 12/12 magazine. It was made in completely different fabric style and with some corrections. Since I am novice, I do not want to ruin some beautiful and expensive fabric so for now I am going with more affordable ones. Hope this time next year I will have enough expertise not to be afraid to sew with “more serious” fabrics. (I must notice that here in Belgrade they are not cheap at all)

Thank you! There are some mistakes, but I have noticed the more I sew the less mistakes I make (or more easily correct them) ;)

It’s a great dress! I like the color and it fits you nicely. Good job! If ther is anything I could pass on from my years of sewing, is don’t be afraid to make mistakes in your sewing. Cut into that beautiful expensive stuff. It will feel great and you just might find less mistakes and more joy in what you create. Really, I spent years making projects with cheap-o not pretty fabric, fabrics I really detested…sure I learned while making things but even when they came out error free I still didn’t like them much. I wish I could go back and tell my younger timid self to just go for it in the best fabric you can afford and absolutely love. Since I can’t do that, I’ll just give that advice to you. Don’t wait until you’re a pro to sew with divine fabrics, go for it and enjoy!
