This is a dress I made for a regency play. Well, actually I’ve made four dresses from this pattern.
I’ve adapted the lenght, so it’s a floorlenght and I’ve modified the bustpart, this means I’ve got rid of the darts and just gathered that part. This made the dress more historic. Only the bodice part is lined, so that the fabric wouldn’t show through.
One dress took me about 6 hours to maken.
cotton, linen for lining, buttons

I really love the picture of you wearing this dress. This style is exactly what I’m looking for to make a regency dress for halloween.
Can you tell me, what adjustments did you make to have the buttons go up the back, and did you do anything special to extend the skirt to floor length, or just extend the pattern lines all the way down?

i love the idea of adding buttons instead of a zipper :D i really wanted to make this dress, but i’ve never worked with zippers before, so i think this might be the solution for me :) thanks a lot for the inspiration!

Oh, this gown looks beautiful. I’m thinking about making Danielle as a gown but couldn’t imagine properly how could the dress look like with the long skirt. It’s perfect :) Thanks for the inspiration!

It is so beautiful! You are like from another century! I like this style very much. It’s pity, we can’t wear such dresses with hats in ordinary life :(

I love empire line dresses…. On these I especially like the square necklines, they look very neat and well-made. Amazing!

Mooi! (beautiful in Dutch) This way, I really like empire line dresses ;) And you did a really good job adepting a ‘fashion’ pattern to a ‘historic’ look.
