I have a thing for silk neckties and have quite a collection of them which I deconstruct and make into new things. Right now I am into yo-yos and these are a few of the things I’ve made with them. Added some hairclips and hairbands to the bib necklaces and cuff. They feel very nice against the skin because silk is such a lovely fabric. I’ve had plenty of compliments when wearing them!
silk neckties, waxed cotton thong, silver clasp, self-covered and vintage buttons.

Very cute idea.
I’ve been trying to make some yoyos but they seem to have me beat. I’m really struggling to get them right – how embarrassing, to be beaten by something so simple! Yours look great though.

I had to figure them out myself too, did it wrong a few times at first, then I got the hang of it. They’re good fun to make!
I’ve found a really good video on YouTube you might like – explains the trick very well! Enjoy!

That link is great! I’m in the process of moving house, so I’ll put a small bag of fabric aside to use for my downtime and see what I can do with it.
Thanks!
