This red jacket was my first foray into tailoring. It took quite awhile to get it together, but I think it was worth it. For more, please visit my blog:

Love your blog BTW! I was wondering since you already worked with the pattern, if you had any suggestions or tips for sizing up, or general tips are just as helpful :)

Hey isisandra! Thanks!
If I remember correctly (its been awhile) I made the second to smallest size (I’m a 34/27/37) and I remember I took in the princess seams a fair amount and raised the waist to hit my natural waist. However pinching out the princess seams changed the armsyce so make sure your sleeves fit okay after you make any sizing adjustments.
I felt like overall it was a good fit – I was just being picky because I could be :)

Thanks everyone! This jacket was such a great learning experience for me – even just the practice in patience was worthwhile! I’m really loving its charming addition to my wardrobe, and can’t recommend a red blazer in the dead of winter enough!
