Description

Unfortunately, one of my favourite sweaters shrunk in the washing machine some time ago. Since the sweater was in great shape (only too small), I wanted to transform it into something wearable. The main problem was the tight shoulders/sleeves and the tight neckline, so I removed the sleeves and widened the opening for the arms, and also widened the neckline. This turned out to be enough for it to be comfortable to wear — so then the shrunken sweater became a vest!

This was a very simple little project.

Good save. I get attached to favourite sweaters, so I’m happy you could give yours a new lease on life after its tragic accident!

I like how you finished the new edges. I have a sweater that is waiting for this treatment (the sleeves are totally worn out)… I was looking for finishing ideas, so thanks for posting!
