I stenciled tree branches on my version of the Anda, then appliqued some cotton print birds and leaves made from fused plastic Target bags. I then finished the neck, sleeves, and hem with bias tape. I decided to keep the length long, cause I love my partner in fifties-ish outfits. The dress has in-seam pockets done in the polka dot print (many thanks to BurdaStyle for the great tutorial!).
Two cotton bedsheets (blue for dress shell, white for bias tape), fused plastic bags, more cotton for birds, fabric paint
Forgot to say earlier, these photos are all courtesy of my amazing friend Nathan. He makes stuff look so good!

Awww, thanks for all the sweet comments guys! Luzie—great question on whether it’s washable. I honestly don’t know the answer, since this is my first time using fused plastic on fabric. My plan is to give it a try in the gentle wash cycle in one of those mesh bags for delicates; hopefully that’ll work!

When I saw the picture I thought “great fabric!” and then I red you made the decor yourself – this is so cool! I love the polka dot birds, they are very cute! This plastic-thing sounds very interesting, can you still put it into the washer?
