My entry into the Tessuti Awards. Criteria: Red or Black Taffeta bought from Tessuti, dress suitable for dressy event or formal, knee length.
I’m really kicking myself for not making enough time on this project. I had planned on making my own design/pattern but I had another commitment that took more time than I would have liked! I had to make a new dress for an RnR weekender + pants & top. (Did I really need another dress, will I ever learn?)
Dress made from vintage Simplicity 1944. (1950’s pattern)
If you were to use any trimmings, the colour had to be the same as the fabric. I made piping around the waist and collar. Fully lined.
Not holding my breathe on this comp, next year will plan ahead…famous last words!
2 mtrs Taffeta
Lace for the collar and band
Self made piping around the waist and collar
50cm invisible zip
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
