Burda Style For people who sew
Description
RED, is a short film, directed by Simone L Smith! She’s a very talented lady and always gives me great opportunities to produce a variety of costumes for her. These costumes here in particular, are the soldier and the child. I designed and manufactured the soldier costume, right down to making it look old and worn out. Such a great experience to be free to do as you please, yet fit the directors brief!
The child costume was sourced from local shops and broken down, it was easier than making it within the time limit that we had before shooting.
I’ve added some photos of the actual filmshoot and my boyfriend, Michael who kindly let me see the jacket on while it was being manufactured at home :)
So far in life, this is my most favorite costume made by myself ever!

Fabulous jacket, the costumes look great. I could see the jacket made up in a grey wool and being for everyday wear.
