New Look 6000, fully lined. This dress seemed rather Mad Men-esque with a modern twist to me when I saw the pattern in the catalog. I spent a lot of time working with the fit on the initial muslin version since the sizing on the pattern would have required me to sew 3 dramatically different sizes to get a correct fit and I’m quite a bit taller than the base pattern height.
It got a bit tighter in the bust than I wanted after I added the lining, but I still like it. I’ve never owned a sheath dress before because they never fit me off the rack. All in all, I think this was a pretty good first attempt at creating one.
