Burda Style For people who sew

Description

I made this for my daughter from Simplicity pattern 2325 with a few alterations.
It also comes with a crinoline for volume. The five hearts are appliqued. The four hearts are along the bottom front of the skirt and one heart across the chest. I did not use a stabilizer for that, my friend told me that I could just put regular paper underneath and that’s what I did and it worked!
Midway I have lost the instructions and had to suffer nervous breakdown, however I emailed Simplicity and they immediately sent me the instructions.
I had to do alterations to the pattern to do the reverse FBA since this is a child’s costume and shortened the bodice. Also, my daughter did not want to have a long skirt so had to cut the length.
It took a long time and I did not cook proper food for 3 days straight but it is done finally!
To make the crinoline, I watched some Youtube videos for the instructions.
Also, it was a joint project with my daughter, she zigzagged and ironed the seams when I was too exhausted. Originally, I was going to add ribbon to the sash, but my daughter wanted to reuse for her regular clothing so we left it as is.

Material Notes

The main material is some printed lining which I have had for many years. The rest is Halloween fabrics from Joann’s. I also got a ton of ribbon and lace from Simplicity.com but ended up using less.
