Doesn’t my friend look adorable in this red dress?
This dress is made using the New Look 6123 View C without the flutter sleeve and added peter pan collar.
I made the dress with no alterations to the pattern for size. The only weird thing is the back of the dress is too large just at the top of the zipper. The easy way to fix the problem is fold and tack the zipper down at the first 3 inches, it actually gives it an extra detail in the back.
The collar is pretty easy to add. Just find any peter pan collar tutorial and baste to the bodice before adding to the lining. Just make sure you measure the collar smaller than the seam, so you don’t sew it into the zipper.
I love this pattern and have made another version, but super tight and in jersey. I think it’s the darts in the front as well as the back.
The clutch will be available in my shop this winter (Nov, 2013)
