I used the pattern from Burda magazine, August 2007, mod 101. Cut frontal edges at the button line, this way frontal pieces will be just together instead of overlap.
The material is really nice, it is fake suede I bought in a local market. It is fake leather specially for chairs and sofas, but it results to work perfectly for my project. Looks and feels very natural and it cost only 5 euro.
The buttons are military inspired, metal golden with an embleem at top. Two lines at the front, shoulders and back. I made the buttons holes with old golden color thread for making some contrat. I changed the edges of the sleeves, letting a 6 cms split where I located 2 gathered buttons with a golden chain.
I was very lucky to find a proper military brooch on ebay to match my outit. Buttons cost a lot (almost 30 euro overall) Love my jacket, several persons at the street had already aproached me about it.
