I used one bit of fabric that was my correct waist size, ironed on the interfacing ( wrong side) folded in half length ways, machined the ends (right sides facing) the attached to the top of the skirt once turned the right way around. the endings that are closed should face the opening for the zipper. I then inserted the zipper from the top of my waist band down ( about 10 inch long)
