I made the scarf part and dress out of the same fabric and didn’t really do any changes except mirror the whole dress so the scarf hangs on my left side (the rest of the dress is mirrored, also). I was worried the scarf would be too heavy, since my fabric was a medium/heavy weight, but I think the “heaviness” worked pretty well for a winter dress.
