I can’t believe you had the patience to sew all of the beads on! A gorgeous result

Hahaha I wish! My boyfriend kept offering if I would write his paper for him. He would have been mad an hour later to see his paper one and only 50 beads sewn on! :)

this amazing, probably the nicest dress I’ve seen. Would you hate me if I copied it and made it for my prom dress? only joking ;) but I’m making one like this with princess seams but with a low back and a bow like that across the top of the back as a fake fastening i had no idea what colour to make it in but this has given me a good idea thanks :) what have you used to make the bow sit as well as that? or was it just the fabric

Thank you! Our school recommends we call these “patented designs” but really, fashion is all about recycling ideas and getting inspired by others.
The bow is stiffened with 2" wide horsehair braid. The particular braid I used was actually torn out of an old bridal gown given to me by one of the upperclassmen professors. I wrapped the braid in the silk to hide it, and then hand tacked it into the inside of the bow in a couple places, just enough to hold it inside. Then lots and lots of tight hand stitches to attach the knot to the strap!

Beautiful. Is that bow heavy? It is so pretty and that blood red color is to die for. (no pun intended.) I have a pattern such as this but have not cut into it yet. You have given me yet another task.
