Have been meaning to make this dress for ages and finally got around to it. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a long-enough zip for a back zip, so had to put in a side zip instead (see photo) Also, once I’d sewed the bodice to the skirt I realised it wasn’t quite long enough – so had to add in a ‘waistband’ to lengthen it a bit. Am loving the fact that the summer weather is coming for us so I can wear this.

how wide is your waist band and did you cut it at a curve?

The waistband is about 6cm wide, and no, didn’t cut it on the curve – it’s just a straight band. The curve wasn’t really necessary as it was more about length rather than shape :)

oooh, oooh this is great! – I think the waistband actually adds something makes it longer and leaner. fab colour too.
