Description

I wanted to make a simple black dress – essential that I still don’t have… But I couldn’t find a black jersey. So I bought the red one, and this dress came out.
I made a “V” collar on both sides, and added a small bit of elastic tape to make discretes ruffles, and a tiny rose on top of it.

It’s very short (it was too long, so obviously I cut too much…), so I dare wearing it only to go to the beach… Or when my boyfriend is with me!

Material Notes

Jersey, elastic tape.

Hello, I didn’t use a pattern, I simply drafted the pattern from a Tshirt, and then I made adjustments. As it is jersey fabric, it’s very easy to obtain a good fit :)

That’s fantastic!!!! You can always make the black dress later, but this was a perfect alternative for now!!! :-) Looks great on you!

This really suits you – the shape, the colour, everything. So much better than black!

cute! i have the opposite problem, I can never find any red fabric and have an over-abundance of black :) as to the too-short problem- if you have any fabric left over, what about attaching a ruffle to the bottom?

Yes, I’ve think about a ruffle, but I want to keep the simple and straight shape. It would look a little bit… “flamenco” with a ruffle! but thx :)

Red is definitely a good alternative to black, suits you! Very often it happens to me, too. I want to buy a specific fabric, can’t find it and buy something else instead. When did you take the pictures? It can’t be summer in Montpellier, yet.
