When we were little, my sister had a favourite dress. This dress was black velvet with a red ribbon belt and red balloons on the chest. It also had a cute little white collar. Now my sister is 27 but she’d mentioned that she would love a replica so for her birthday I made her one! I just altered a black velvet dress from M&S, and made a removable red velvet belt. For the balloons, I bought a few iron-on-hearts and cut them up into the shapes of balloons and zig-zag stitched some string on. She loves the dress but I wish I had been able to do a collar too… maybe next time!
