BWOF 2/2007, #124.
I loved this dress the minute I saw it in the magazine. I was searching for the right kind of fabric for a long time – I couldn’t find the right shade of red.
I had to alter the dress a lot, to make it fit me right. I am size 38 in the top part, and size 40 in the lower part. I traced size 38 and it turned BIG BIG BIG in the bust and shoulders areas. It took me some time to fix that.
The dress is fully lined. I used a piece of white cotton for the under collar to make it a bit stiffer. Also, I used white interfacing for the collar and button closure, which gave these parts a slightly pale shade compared to the rest of the dress.
The neckline is a bit low for my small bust, so I have to be careful when I move my arms and body. Other than that, I love the dress.

Thank you all for your nice comments!
@EmilyKate: I noticed too the similarity with the Ute blouse pattern. The sleeves are constructed differently, but sleeves from the JJ blouse pattern look almost identical to the dress’ sleeves. It wouldn’t be difficult to alter the blouse into a dress.

Oh GORGEOUS- as usual for you AnaJan! You look fab :o) Unfortunately I missed this Burda number…. but actually it looks a lot like a dress version of the Ute shirt that’s available here on BurdaStyle!
