Description

This dress was made from the skirt of a vintage 70’s maxi dress, with a print I fell totally in love with.

The whole dress is made from the material of the original skirt, including the lining and the velvet waist band. I also used vintage notions to create this piece.

The top is darted in the front with a deep v neck and the back is a also a deep v that meets at the waist band. The waist band is made of a beautiful velvet ribbon from the original dress and the skirt is loosely gathered at the waist, falling above the knees. The left side opens with a covered invisible zipper with hook and eye closure.

The whole dress was draped on my dressform with no pattern, which is my favorite way to design as it creates a completely unique piece.

Material Notes

vintage patterned material and lining, vintage notions (twill tape, thread, hook and eye), lots of love
