I made this vest out of an old skirt a friend gave me. The skirt had little buttons down the front, so I just lined up my pattern pieces around those buttons. I had to sew bits and pieces of this vest together since it didn’t all fit on the skirt. In this way I feel that I got a pretty unique variation from the original pattern! I lined the jacket with some leftover fabric from a dress.
One thing I would change about this pattern is the armholes. They could definitely be a little larger at the bottom.
What I did change: I did not fold back the neckline or include the pockets.

fabulous job. Upcycling gives such a great sense of accomplishment and I couldn’t have picked a better color for a vest!
