This is my January Contribution to the Refashion Co-op Blog. I just love recycling clothes from my husband! He gave me this grey suit which I dyed, took apart, fitted and sewed together as an overall… It was so much fun and I ran into very few difficulties. All these time-consuming details were already made – sleeve-cuffs, collar, pockets, zipper! I have posted more pictures on my blog Of Dreams and Seams and I will write a how-to in two posts. If you’re interested, just stop by!
Best to all of you!

This is a most fabulous pair of overalls! Very inventive to refashion a suit! It reminds me of the gorgeous overalls you see in old 40’s photos – though of course you have given this a much more modern style. I love it!

Ooooh thank you! It’s not always that things turn out exactly the way I picture it in my head, but it did in this case!

I can’t wait to try this. I am so short that I have to hem petite length clothing (sad, huh?). I have always loved the look of fitted jumpers, but have never been able to find one that even remotly fit. And I love the vintage 40’s vibe of this.

Oh please let me know when you’ve made it! It’s true, overalls need to fit right, and store-bought ones rarely work for "real"people…

This is so clever! I have always wanted a jumper but am too tall to fit anything from a store & they are always too casual. This would be perfect for the office & what an interesting piece. I may have to hunt down a thrift store suit to try this out.

Yes, make one! I have the opposite problem – my torso and legs are too short :-) please let me know when you’ve made one!
