I repurposed a leather sheepskin into these very warm and cute slippers . Thank you to mikmik for the pattern via etsy . These are based on her pattern for retro leather shoes .
I cheated a little and used a leather hand stitcher rather than punch the holes and then threading , i also reinforced around the lace holes as the sheepskin is quite thin .
I also used leather on the sole , i originally had quite a thick rubber but it wasn’t working so thick leather it was !
Next time i make them i would also probably make them a little higher at the heel , they feel al ittle slippy , but it might be the thicker wool/leather combination . Overall I am very pleased with how they turned out .
