I recycled a flannel shirt from the attic into 2 pieces that can be worn together as a ‘strapless dress’ or.. (because i liked the skirt too much by itself) just the skirt! Hence the long and cumbersome creation name! I didn’t use a pattern. The skirt front is made entirely out of the sleeves of the shirt, the skirt back is made of the back of the shirt. The dress-top is made of the front of the flannel shirt.
For the skirt, I used the existing cuffs and buttons to create the front plaits and convenient pockets. The two buttons in the front are also the closure. On the top, I worked the collar into the bust and the buttons from the lower half of the shirt worked as closure in the back.
I used pretty much all of the shirt in these two creations and it was my first time using my duct-tape dress form! Great fun! :] Hope you like it!
Edit: i hope the new pictures are a step up from my first blurry ones

Wow, such a clever alteration. I especially like how you used sleeve slits to create pockets, and the way you used collar for front trim. Really lovely outfit.

Great! I like the idea of a two-piece-garment. It looks lovely on you and you did a great job recycling that mens shirt :)

What a great idea, your Recycled Flannel Shirt-Dress/Skirt looks great and suits you very well! I especially like the detail how you made the collar into the bust part.
