This chiffon dress used to be a long skirt with 3 tiers. The skirt had the hem shorter on one side…so I decided to use 2 of the tiers to form the skirt of this cocktail dress. With the 3rd tier, I made the bust and the straps pleating the chiffon and leaving space between the pleats so we could see the golden lining that is also under the skirt.
Actually, the picture does not show how well it came out!!! I was very please with the end result, specially because something totally different came out of and old skirt. I forgott to tell you!! this dress is shorter at the front than at the back!!
100% silk chiffon, and 100" silk lining.

This is so lovely! I hope one day you might consider a blog to upload pics and tell us how you create the patterns and how you put together such complicated looking garments. I know it would really mean alot to us out there who are self taught sewers!

Beautiful dress, my friend! Love chiffon (in fact, I am an addict! ;-)) and the gently flowing skirt, but the bodice makes it so much more interesting!!!

Thank you my dear friend, you allways have a good eye for the detail, and really, I think that those small spaces are really what makes the top part of the dress. The bottom is also lined with the same golden yellow silk, and at the back, the first layer of chiffon is close, but the secon one is open to show thru the lining and it looks very pretty. Thank you for your comment, and for giving me the honor to be a guesst on your web page!!!! Abrazos!!!
