this is my first ever top. it is actually incredibly simple – it is, simply, four rectangles. i did french darts and french seams to hide all the edges. the buttonholes were hand sewn because i managed to tear the first one when i did it with the machine (woops!) but they can’t really be seen. because the fabric and the cut is quite boy-ish, i used pale blue buttons and lace, to make it a little softer. i still have just over a metre of lace left (the two pieces beside the collar are 45cm each) that i thought about putting on, but i think it looks fine as it is.
definitely plan to make this – or a variation – again.

First top – very good job. I like the style – it is simple and a great top to wear with a pair of jeans.
