Charming plaid dress I reconstructed from a vintage polyster one (circa ‘90s/in great condition!). Reconstructed into a sweet, sweetheart neckline with funky metal zip. I’ve also added a cotton obi-ish belt with yellow buttons for cute glamour.
No patterns used.
I just cut up the upper portion (including yoke) of the dress (original dress was a long sleeveless one) to make it into a sweetheart bustier. I’ve also cut the waist part to give it shape by adjusting the seams (no additional darts added). I’ve added a functional metal zip on the front part of the bodice. I’ve also constructed an attached belt (back portion not attached for adjustments) from black cotton scrap fabric and added vintage yellow buttons I got from a Japanese thrift shop.
