Don’t ask me how did I end up from one XL sized men’s vest with a pair of shorts and vest. It just happened dolls. Went to my weekly thrift dose when I found this oversized men’s vest with the tags on for €5…got the rush yes. It shall be mine I thought.
I had this Stretch Drawstring Shorts-5/2010 Stretch Drawstring Shorts #121A-saved up already and so I put it into good use. http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/52010-stretch-drawstring-shortsOnly altered the length of it as it was a bit two short for my not to sexy legs. I blame mom for that. The size of the vest allowed me not only to make a pair of shorts out of it but to keep the rest and use it as one of those shoulder-things on footballers or Ellen Ripley in Alien 3…the Resurrection of thrifted vest. I cheated with the seem allowance a lil bit as I had to work with very limited amount of fabric if ya know what I mean. I found it hard to sew over leather as it sticks to the presser foot so I used a sheet of tissue and I sewn over it to prevent stretching out or damaging the leather. Need to loose that belly though..sexey.
