This is my first jacket! I chose New Look 6035 to ease myself into the world of jackets, primarily as it’s unlined.
I made a view A in size 4, in a soft blend fabric that I can only describe as somewhere between a twill, viscose and poly! I chose it because of the lovely rich colour — whilst I find some dark red colours tend to drain me out, this one doesn’t seem too bad.
The pattern was well drafted and easy to follow, but I had to make an alteration to let out the bottom of the sleeves (as apparently I have disproportionately massive forearms!). If I were to make it again I would also make the lapel more narrow, but overall I was pleased with it, and will be getting quite a lot of wear out of it :)
My Alma blouse peeking through from underneath, too!
