This was originally a little girl’s vintage-style (but not cute) sailor-collar dress purchased at a thrift store mainly for the cute buttons. It had a high waist with a full, gathered skirt that I cut off. I put in a simple elastic casing waistband. I also moved the duck buttons from the collar to the front side of the skirt and added horizontal tucks behind each button to pull up the skirt a bit on that side. Per my daughter’s request, I added a pocket with slight gathering around the bottom, which also serves to hide a small stain.
Unfortunately, my model (age 3) was reluctant to pose today, so flat pictures are all I was able to take.
