Beignet Skirt: High waisted straight skirt provides a very flattering shape with paneled styling: not too loose or too tight around the hips, with a very fitted waist. Buttons up the front, has side seam pockets, and includes a self tie belt, which can be swapped out for your own narrow belts. Skirt has a faced waist, button placket and full lining.
The instructions are clear, although I would not recommend this pattern for a first or second project. Attaching the facings pieces to the lining is a bit tricky, and there are all of those buttons to contend with!
I love the classic styling of this pattern. I also appreciate the lining! If I want to wear the garment in the fall, I will not have any problems wearing stockings because of the silky lining I used.
I decided to omit the pockets on this skirt. As much as I love the idea of pockets, I never really use them. Because the skirt is rather fitted, I feel like the lines of the skirt are improved without the extra bulk.
And, of course, I decided to go with bound buttonholes.
I love this pattern!
