My little girl wanted a Halloween costume for her school dress up day, and settled on Rapunzel’s wedding dress a la the Disney short movie. I decided to make her one out of old clothes I had sitting around, rather than spend $35 on one she might get to wear twice before it disintegrated. I even used my Janome MC with gold thread to approximate the embroidery of the original. She uses this regularly to play “Dress Up”, since it has an elastic waist and Velcro closures. I made her tiara with gold craft wire & silver-lined crystal size E beads, and she wears it nearly every day.
An old poly satin women’s white tank top with white on white flower motif, a pale pink nightgown, 1/4 yd of white polyester satin, gold embroidery thread (& I love my Janome MC, the embroidery was a cinch!), white picot ribbon
