Description

This McCalls pattern was perfect for this silk knit I picked up awhile back. Silk and cotton are the best fabrics to choose for hot and humid weather. They are both breathable and light which gives you hours of comfort. When the weather is hot, the last thing you want is synthetic fabric clinging to you.

I used a silk knit from Thai Silks

Few alterations were made to the pattern:

-Shorten to wear as top instead of dress (removed lengthen/shorten piece)

-Added 4 inches to length

-Used fold over elastic on hem at neckline

I’m looking forward to using this pattern again in different lengths, fabrics (silk/cotton) and sleeve changes.

Great execution! I also did a double-take when I recognized the rail station from living in Houston ;)

Thanks Plant, maybe it’s also due to not sewing the side seam under the arm with the drape as well too.
