Another project from my Grandmother’s hand-me-downs. I inherited 3 meters of this quilted material and really needed a pattern which wouldn’t chop it up. The red bias binding which I put in between the collar and the body was some scraps from my Great-Grandmother – so a family heirloom of a jacket! I ended up making the jacket, and then having to re-sew the sleeves and side seams and collar as it was super wide and looked like I was swimming in it. When I took it in I left it still quite big so I can wear jumpers and cardigans underneath, but not so I look ridiculous.
Not really any ideas on what kind of material it is. It has a stretch so I put it in the jersey/knit category however it was very stiff and definitely jacket material.

Love the lines on the jacket. I also like the fact that you were able to use family treasures for the jacket. It makes it all the more special!
