A long time ago when I just started seriously sewing I thought that I would make a quilt. This was when I really loved the colour blue. That was more that 12 years ago. Got as far as I could with the top of the quilt, and nothing more. At some point I pulled the quilt out again and tried to work on it, no good.
My niece inherited my old bedroom furniture, a couple dressers and a extra long twin bed. It’s hard to find sheets for a extra long twin. She’s had a hog pog mess of sheets and things for a while. So naturally I figured that this would be a good home for my quilt. Yet, could I stop at just a quilt? No! I did sheets (two sets), a pillow sham, throw pillow, and a bolster. She knew that she was getting the quilt and some sheets, the rest was a surprise. I wanted to make a sort of day bed effect, cause she loves to read.
Now I will be making a quilt and sheets and more for my nephew. He has an extra long twin as well.
