This is the Qipao of my dreams :P well, after the test run, I bought nice silk from SF’s famous Britex, and made this dress. I altered it a little to make it shorter. But I still didnt get the two front curvy thing to line up. I put pipng all alone any edges I could find, and I like the result. I also got lucky and had a maroon separating zipper, and therefore this dress can be opened up like a shirt! :) But for anyone trying this pattern, I may suggest to just sew the sides and front together and put a zipper in the back :)
All in all, i achieved the traditional look I wanted and I was able to make it fit much better :)
Silk!

Beautiful. I made a red velvet qipao, but it looks not good.

I adore this dress. It fit you perfectly. I love the sleeves and the high slit! One thing I want to tell you is that you might want to move darts down. The side darts are too high due to the shrinking process. Press front pattern piece on your body and mark the apex. Move the whole side bust dart down. Dart should point to Apex but never touch it. Half an inch from bust dart is the idea.

Thank you for the ‘chinese frog’ buttons link. I’ve always wanted to know how to make them but actually never got to ‘google’ for them!
