This is the pussy bow blouse from Pattery Runway. I really like this pattern and will be using it again for sure. For my first blouse, I’m really happy with it. I think I’ll use some cotton for the next one though—might save myself some time and frustration.
fabric made from recycled plastic bags. Once while wearing it, it became static-y and clung to me like a plastic bag—not so cool. but it is generally pretty comfortable.

I recognized this fabric and couldn’t believe it—I have a top from it, too! http://megmadethis.blogspot.com/2011/07/japanse-drape-blouse.html. I love what you did with it.
I also made a blazer from the same fabric as your bird skirt!
My parents live in santa cruz so we must be buying our fabric at the same place… do you shop at Crossroads Fabrics in Watsonville and/or Hart’s in Santa Cruz?

Really cute top! The patterned fabric looks great. I’d never heard of a fabric made from bags before!

I have this project on my sewing table right now and should be completing it in the next few days. I’m loving your version – it looks fantastic in a print. You have to tell me more about this fabric, though! Plastic bags?

yeah… that’s what the fabric store owner told me… she kinda talks a lot tho ;) I tried to look up more info online, and I found “eco-spun” does exist, but not much info available. It felt kinda silky, but once I heard “plastic,” all I can think of is a plastic bag, LOL. It’s fun, I like the print. But it’s hard to work with because it won’t hold a crease at all. Ironing was a bit pointless :/
I look forwarding to seeing your blouse!! the pattern is really cute.
