This skirt is from the November Burda Magazine: Skirt #120. It was the first time I’d worked from the magazine. The instructions were easy to follow even though there were no pictures to guide me. The pleat within a pleat is a cool detail. The pockets are nice and roomy to put my hands in. I made it with a very warm and thick wool.
Purple tweed with sky blue lining

Glad you like the skirt. I got the pattern from the Burda Magazine, November 2009 issue. I believe they sell it all over the world. You may have to look online to try to buy this back issue…Hope that helps…

I’d been admiring that pattern in the magazine. Lovely to see it looks so good made up. I love that purple tweed, too…

I love your skirt. I had one just like this years ago (ages to be more specific – inherited from my mom). The vintage feel of it attracted me here to have a better look as well as the lovely fabric and- of course – the design.

It looks great, well done on your first Burda Magazine pattern. It can be frustrating without pictures sometime but I just keep re-reading and trying to visualise if I get stuck :) The pleat detail is really cool and I love big pockets xx
