Description

I finally got around to posting some photographs of my Tikva trench. It is made of 100% silk dupion and silk lining, so it is both incredibly breathable and incredibly comfortable.

The fabric was expensive, so I made my first ever muslin for this project, just to check the fit of the bodice. Lucky that I did – I needed to go down to a 34!

The buttons on the sleeves and bodice are self-covered. I decided to make a long tie-belt with the fabric, and have worn the jacket with a leather waist-cincher on occasion too. Versatile!

I love my beautiful winter jacket!

You look absolutely fabulous! I love sewing with silk, your coat looks very up market! Love the slightly longer length and also your tie/belt. A fantastic job!
