thanks, lauriana. I should really start to test things on scraps. I always forget I can do that. Thanks for your suggestions~:)

My tip for ironing anything that might not be able to handle much heat is this: try on a scrap first, use lots of steam and if your fabric in really delicate or could melt on the iron (like some synthetics) use a piece of white or unbleached cotton or linen to lay on the fabric when you iron it.

lauriana and JenDockter, I do agree on the waist line seam. It is a bit lying in the “wrong” direction :p What happened was that I was really afriad to iron the fabric in fear that it will change color or melt or something. So I haven’t dealt with that part yet, hence very minimal ironing on this piece. Maybe I should get to that. Any tips on ironing satin? thanks for your comments.

I agree with Lauriana about the waist-line seam. I feel this and / or a belt would bring it all together, but your mileage may vary.

Very nice dress in a great colour! I have one little thing to nag about though: the center back seam and the seam at the waistline are a bit more visible and less neat that they need to be. If you press the seam alowances apart really well (with a hot iron and plenty of steam) straight after making the seam it would look absolutely perfect. It’s really a small detail and I guess it takes a very fussy seamstress to even notice it, so please ignore it if you don’t like it and try extra pressing if you do.

What a beautiful dress! I love the color, and the contour/shape is very pretty. Great job on the pleats- they look challenging but you executed them so neatly!
