Hazel Park, Mich...
I made this to fit model for a fashion show (which is why it doesn’t fit me). This silk taffeta was originally cream with that wide black floral border print. Actually, it was a very old piece when I bought it, so I wonder if it was originally much whiter! Anyway, it was a bit blotchy, so I took my chances and dyed it purple in hopes of getting a more even color. It worked!
I liked the border print a lot, but wanted to find a way to use it at the top and the bottom, so I created the gathered bustline. I added a bit of black tulle to the underskirt for fun.
